Every tax deductible donation to NFAB goes far to fill the gaps in arts funding and to support students who may not otherwise be able to participate in arts programming in Northfield Public Schools. Since NFAB was founded in 2010, your donations have supported dozens of projects benefitting not just district students but the Northfield community as a whole.

Here’s a partial listing of NFAB fund disbursements in the 2018-2019 school year:

  • Art supplies for Alternative Learning Center

  • Vocal Coaching for NMS Choir students

  • Speech Team coaching including a workshop given by Speak2compete

  • A new spotlight for the NMS Auditorium

  • Food for artists donating time to consult with NHS Art Students on Portfolio Day

  • Transportation for elementary choir students to attend district chorale festival

  • Sewing machine, equipment and supplies for Theater Program

  • Portable keyboards for elementary Whole Notes music class

  • Printing press and etching tools to be shared among elementary schools

  • Lessons, master classes, clinics, and performances from professional musicians including vocalist Brenda Atzinger, trombonist JC Sanford, composer Rebecca Jarvis and saxophonist Kenni Holmen

Additionally, The Roger Jenni Instruments for All program has paid for:

  • The repair of over a dozen orchestra and band instruments

  • Music lesson books for students in need

  • Summer music lesson scholarships

As we look to the future of the Fine Arts Boosters, we eagerly anticipate growing support for the arts and the thousands of project support opportunities that exist. We review funding requests on a regular basis and invite Northfield Public School arts organizations to fill out our NFAB Program Funding Request Form for support consideration. Before submitting a grant request, consult your building principal to see if school district funds are available to cover your request.
